Julie Owens is the former Federal Member for Parramatta
Julie was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2004.
In 2021, after 18 years of service, Julie announced her retirement and when the Parliament was dissolved for the 2022 election on 11 April 2022, Julie ceased to be the Federal Member for Parramatta.
Before entering Parliament, Julie was a small business owner and head of the Association of Australia Independent Record Labels.
As Federal Member for Parramatta, Julie was a passionate advocate for small business and employment, heritage and the NBN. She also helped deliver:

- Increases in university enrolments among local young people, with more than 70 per cent of current students able to proudly say they are the first in their family to go to university;
- Brand new facilities for all our local schools; and
- Better government services and facilities for the whole community.
